What is Yoga?
The roots of Yoga are in India, and translated from Sanskrit Yoga means "join" or "to unite".
The bringing together of the body and mind, and for me also the uniting of the human and the Higher Spirit, whatever is the Higher Spirit to you.
By doing asanas (yoga postures) with the right pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation, the body gets healthier, more grounded and the mind (thought) quieter.
When the mind is calmer, we are more in our own strength. When we are in our own strength it's easier to deal with life situations.
Personally to me, yoga is a lifelong quest for the essence of who and what I am. Yoga helps me to be in my own strength and it brings me peace.
